The History of Modern Israel
The Village Study Groups is offering a course on The History of Modern Israel. This course will explore the fascinating and complex history behind the reestablishment of the State of Israel. It will detail the key events from the first Zionist Congress in 1897 to the official founding of the state in 1948. We will use a combination of historical documents, multimedia resources, and guided discussions, Participants will gain a deep understanding of the political, social, and military challenges involved in creating a Jewish homeland in the face of opposition and adversity. You will enjoy documentary videos which include archival footage, photographs, and personal testimonies to assist in understanding the key events that led to the formation of the State of Israel.
When: Tuesdays, twice a month (11meetings total) at 4:00pm.
