About Us

The Villages Study Groups Club was founded in 2023.
Most clubs and organizations in the Villages are single-focused: tennis, golf, cats/dogs, politics, and theater/musical arts to name a few. Not the Villages Study Groups Club. It offers a menu of topics are as diverse as the interests of Villages residents themselves, including movie and book groups, history, world events, chess, folk dancing, Mah Jongg, men’s and women’s separate discussion groups about life’s issues and day trips to local places of interest.  Its members connect, share, and build community while engaging in social activities and a wide range of topics.
It is designed to make new friends, join new activities, and most importantly, have a good time, while enjoying stimulating discussions and exploring something new.
The Villages Study Groups Club is open to all Villages residents.

The Villages Study Groups Club (TVSGC) held its first membership meeting Sunday, April 14 at Foothill Center. About 45 club members and interested residents attended this successful event to learn more about this new club.  The club, founded about six months ago, has quickly grown from 25 members to over 100.
President Marty Schlager welcomed everyone and made introductory statements about the club. This was followed by a brief review, member vote and approval of revisions to the club’s by-laws by Howie Blumstein.
Joey Stern, Study Groups Director, introduced leaders of existing study groups to briefly inform attendees about their study group. One new study group, “Eat Your Heart Out”, recently founded by Pi Silverstein, drew a lot of interest from attendees. Judy Eskinazi, Publicity Director, and Webmaster assisted by Vice President Israel Littman, concluded the meeting highlighting the club’s website.
Attendees had the opportunity to sign up for study groups they are interested in joining. Another group that received a lot of attention was the “Local Day Trips Study Group.” There are currently 15 study groups to choose from, with more being continually added. To learn more about TVSGC, go to our website studygroups.vgcc.club to see study groups you may be interested in joining, club events and membership application.
